Steady State Books started with my own books, not with a plan to build a company around bookkeeping. I've run my personal finances on a zero-based budget for the past ten years, every dollar assigned a job, every account reconciled, before I ever considered doing it for anyone else.
I started taking on client work because I'm good at this and I like doing it. Every client gets held to the same standard I hold myself to: transactions categorized carefully, accounts reconciled on schedule, and numbers you can actually trust. I'm a Certified QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor, and this practice is built to stay small on purpose.
